my walk home from my parties last night took me through the Meatpacking District, where I spotted this totally stunning Matthew Williamson dress hanging in his boutique window. I’m in love! feathers and sequins? ahhhh

A perfect spring/summer cocktail party dress in a stunning floral fabric shot through with metallic yarns to give it a subtle shimmer. From the front the shape is more conservative- the neckline grazes the collarbone and the sleeves have a delicate dimple at the high point of the shoulder. But then you turn around.. and this mini floral frock gets super interesting with an angular cut-out back that by some patternmaker’s magical set of skills, stays in place as if suspended on the body, entirely without style tape!
