Designers: Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves

Azusa Murakami and Alexander Groves of Studio Swine have teamed up to create a collection of human hair glasses. The glasses are made entirely out of human hair and natural resin and are designed to show the potential of designing with hair.

According to the two, the U.K. imports 15 million pounds of hair a year. Taking even a fraction of this hair and creating other items with it, such as glasses, could go a long way in reducing Britain’s carbon footprint. Hm… as disgusting as it may sound, it does make eco sense and they actually look pretty fashionable! But what do YOU think...

i spent the long weekend visiting family and friends upstate and found myself wearing colorful socks and heels every day. upstate’s reactions to said combo was  mixed at best but my sweet grandma excitedly remarked that i look like a sock hop girl. sock hop? a brief discussion with grandma and a short google image search later and voila, i was inspired to replicate this classic fifties look in-full today with the midi skirt and headband.

upstate was beyond fun and busy and full of amazing grandmas — one inspired today’s look, another gave me these vintage sunnies and another this white skirt. what would the world be like without amazing grandmas? a terrible, unfriendly, un-vintage place that’s what. thank goodness for them! xoxo.

Refinery29 recently posted an article about the six fall jewelry trends that you can try right now. Right this minute, in fact! And everyone loves instantaneous trend-recreation, don’t you agree? I’ll answer my own question: Yes.
